How to make your little darling the star of the day?

Do you remember that time when you brought your BFFs home and your mother pulled out an old album of your childhood photos to show them? Your friends probably made fun of you for days after that. Didn’t they? Well, you can’t blame them, as most of us back in our childhood weren’t bothered about trivial things like the clothes we wore. All we wanted to do was to play, watch cartoons and eat a bowl of steaming noodles in the evening.

However, the times have changed. In the era of internet, children tend to develop a sense of individuality and fashion early on. Therefore, parents now have an added responsibility to ensure that children wear appropriate clothes and look their presentable best, be it at a family function or at a simple event in their school.

So to make your job easier as a parent, here’s a little to-do list that you can rely on to ensure that your little bundle of joy looks like a pretty diva.

  1. Prioritize comfort always

We cannot stress on this enough. They might be more fashion conscious then you were of their age, but they are still kids. They are fidgety. They tend to run around, stretch, jump and be all over the place. Make sure you have adequate flare, pleats, stretch-ability and air circulation in their outfit.

  1. Go colourful

How many pictures of your little one do you have on your phone? Hundreds of them, we are sure! And to make sure they stand out in their every picture you need to dress your kid up in bright and happy hues like yellow, pink, blue, green, orange etc. Anything but drab greys, faded nudes, or bleak pastels that are considered glamorous for adults.

  1. Accessorize but with caution

No one can resist the cuteness of a little munchkin with cute accessories like a shiny stole, charming tassels, a shiny belt or even pair of pretty earring. Your kid will love showing these off with their outfits as well. But make sure you have nothing restrictive on them like beaded necklaces, bracelets or dangling earring that might get stuck while playing, running or jumping and are a risk to them in the process.

  1. Shimmer for their smile

Women love fairy tales but little girls believe in them! They want to dress up like their favourite character, own a shiny dress that sparkles with every little moment they make. Shimmery dresses are like magic to them. But too much of a good thing is never right. So don’t go overboard by having too many glittering elements in one simple ensemble or they may end up looking unappealingly gaudy.

  1. Play with patterns

Opting for patterns is like dressing up your baby in different types of creative pieces of art. You will be surprised at the ability of a kid being able to pull off patterns that will look hilarious and absurd on an adult. There are many options you can experiment with – geometric designs, heritage prints, cartoon caricatures, floral motifs, striped patterns and the list goes on!

So there you go! These were a few ways to make you little one the star of the day! Looking for more fashion inspiration for your little girl? Explore the marvellous collection of Kids’ Wear at taruni on our website www.taruni.in to style your girl into a charming little angel!
